Its that time of year! Time for our annual Swim-a-thon for the kids swim team. Jacob, Peter and Sami swim for one of the largest teams in Ohio, the Anderson Barracudas. The team is one of the better YMCA swim teams in the country. They are swimming as many laps as they can to raise money for the team for things like new lane lines, kick boards, exercise equipment for the team, travel funds for the coaches (who are severely under paid as a result of working for the YMCA), ect...
The goal for the family is $500, so anything you might be able to spare would be appreciated. In the past, we've asked for something 'per lap', but, and I'm sure you'll be amazed by this, Jacob and Peter's' goal will be to swim 200 LAPS each of a 25 yard pool. That's 4000 yards if you're counting, or just under 2 miles. That's pretty amazing for a 11 and 10 year old. This is Sami's first Swim-a-thon and her goal is a whopping 100 LAPS. Pretty big goal for a 6 year old!
The Swim-a-thon is on Monday, October 26th and we can take donations through the end of that week. After the event I will post how the kids did and pictures!
