Hey...all you shadow or former shadow priests out there...do Silent Resolve and Shadow Affinity stack? Just wondering if I get the aggro reduction from both.

I know for a fact that Shadow Affiniity stacks up to 5x's. As for silent resolve I personally don't know. Blizz's website says that Shadow Affinity stacks, but it doesn't say anything about stacking with silent resolve. So I'm guessing no on that.

they do stack yes. Vendora is thinking of shadow weaving not shadow affinity. The tooltip says "reduces the threat caused by your damage spells by 1 2 3 4 and 5%" while shadow affinity is threat reduced from shadow spells by 1 2 3 4 and 5%. If you're looking to make a shadow mage rather than a priest every bit of threat reduction helps.

I am goin to sidestep your question...

There are better places for your talent points. Frankly you will find little chance to be DPS in a group. Since you will not have that chance, threat reduction is not important.

If you do find that you are in a group and providing DPS, just avoid mindblast and you wont have anything to worry about.

Lastly you have fade which is a freebe.

I partially agree with weed on this one. I too would bypass the threat reduction talents. Chances are the only time you'll be full dps is in PvP and the hordies don't obey aggro laws :(

The reason I said partially agree is because I've gone dps in instance groups before with relatlively low aggro problems. You definitely cannot nuke your balls off but that goes for the just about any class - you need to keep your aggro under control. Blessing of salvation and a good tank, and wise use of fade (proactive instead of reactive at times) you should have little problem controling aggro. I would not exclude mindblast from my dps if I were in a dps role in a group.
